Quicklink works by downloading your QuickBooks item list and storing it in our database. When a item inventory is checked or a order is placed, we search that database for the MPN of the item requested.
Because we use the MPN to identify items the MPN must be added as the SKU inside shopify. Without this items will be ignored, if you are or planning to use order sync, items that do not have a sku or a sku that matches a mpn, will cause the entire order not to be entered into Quickbooks.
All of the settings must be set in order for Quicklink to sync orders correctly. Make sure you match these settings to items you use to keep track of tax, shipping or discounts. Sales tax is important because you must ensure that the Quickbooks Customers used for online and pos orders do not have the same tax item set to automatically calculate tax.
Notice how we are not referencing the above tax item in the below image. The reason this has to be done is because Quickbooks thinks your calculating the tax twice which is what it tries to do if you use it as a line item, as we are and to automatically add tax to a sales receipt. We add tax as a line item because the we want it to be accurate. if we allow Quickbooks to calculate tax it maybe different then what shopify charged, this is because of the way numbers are rounded, one may round up the percentage the other may round down, thus giving inaccurate numbers.
